Each week we want you to be able to experience the great music, encouraging messages, friendly people and creative atmosphere that are a part of the Northwest experience.

And we know that your first time at a church, any church, brings up some questions. How do I get there… what should I wear… what’s available for my kids… what should I expect in church? Here is a quick look at what you can expect each week at Northwest.

How do I get there?

Northwest Baptist Church is located at 23845 Middlebelt Rd. in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Click here for Directions.

What should I wear?

We’re more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear. Most people will dress in casual weekend attire, while others dress in traditional sunday dress. So dress how you feel comfortable and you’ll fit right in.

Where should I park?

Northwest Baptist Church has a top-notch greeting team that will guide you from the moment you turn onto your campus.  This event style approach will ensure that you easily find a spot to park each week.  For our first-time guests, you will find a special section right near the entrance reserved just for you.  If you are taking the time to check us out for the first time, we want you to know that we appreciate it.  So you get the best spot!

What’s available for my kids?

We have an excellent kid’s experience. During Connected Worship at 11 am and 1 pm worship hours we have special classes for boys and girls. Kids love it! As soon as you walk in the building, you will see the Information Center  where our amazing greeting team will help you find everything you need for a great experience.

What should I expect in church?

From the moment you pull into the parking lot, you'll be made to feel at home. Our greeting team will help you find anything you need. After finding your way to the entrance, our greeting team will welcome you, hand you our information-filled program and help you secure a seat so you aren’t stressed out trying to find an open space. The program will tell you more about Northwest Baptist Church. There will be a Connection Card in each chair. You can fill out anytime during the gathering and hand it to an usher or put it in the offering plate.

Complete the connection card during the gathering.

There will be a connection card in each chair. This is our way to communicate with you. We will never single you out during the service. This card is our way of getting to know you better. You can complete as much information as you feel comfortable and turn it in when the offering plates are passed at the end of the service. We will send you a thank you card for attending the service, its our way of thanking you for attending worship with us.

Enjoy the Northwest Baptist Church experience.

An hour at Northwest will become the best hour of your week. You will discover our music is inspirational and moving. Also, our pastor, Jon Jackson, will lead you through practical, timeless truths with humor and sincerity.

Enjoy our Community Space after the gathering.

In the Community Space, you can find information about our church, our beliefs, Community Groups, and information about our various ministries. Stick around and meet Pastor Jackson and his wife Keiki, and other friendly members. Feel free to ask any questions about Northwest as you grab a Starbucks coffee directly after the gathering.

What is a Lead Pastor, Campus Pastor and Senior Adult Pastor?

We understand that many people come from little Bible understanding or from different denominations and may not understand what a Lead Pastor or Campus Pastor does and means. In the Bible, we see a lead elder that was surrounded by qualified elders that helped the ministry in a variety of ways.

Here at Northwest we are blessed with Jon Jackson as our Lead and Teaching Pastor. He teaches and preaches to the church weekly on Sundays at our worship services. As the Lead Pastor he is the overseer of the church. He is the founder, main teacher and preacher at Northwest. As the Lead Pastor, he oversees the ministry here at Northwest. Pastor Jon brings culturally relevant, Biblically accurate messages designed to meet you where you are. Jon challenges each of us to develop a vibrant, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

We are also blessed with a Senior Adult Pastor, Rick Carter. Pastor Rick assist Pastor Jon with teaching, discipleship and counseling. Pastor Rick oversees the finances of the church, makes visits, directly works in counseling and hospital visitation. Pastor Rick leads our DITW “Daily in the Word” discipleship each week and is available to answer any questions you may have concerning the church, help that you may need or just to talk over Starbucks.
